Learn how changing weather and wildfire smoke conditions may affect race day, when decisions are made, and where to find official updates.<\/p>\r\n  <\/header>\r\n  <div class=\"quick\" aria-label=\"Important policy information\">\r\n    <article><span class=\"k\">Weather<\/span><strong>Rain, snow or shine<\/strong><small>Severe conditions may require changes or cancellation.<\/small><\/article>\r\n    <article><span class=\"k\">Air quality threshold<\/span><strong>AQHI 7+<\/strong><small>The event will be cancelled if the AQHI reaches 7 or greater.<\/small><\/article>\r\n    <article><span class=\"k\">Participant updates<\/span><strong>72 hours before<\/strong><small>A conditions update is sent in advance; the final decision is made race morning.<\/small><\/article>\r\n  <\/div>\r\n  <section class=\"section\">\r\n    <div class=\"sectionhead\"><h3>Weather Policy<\/h3><\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"sectionbody\">\r\n      <p>The event will proceed <strong>rain, snow or shine<\/strong> and will only be cancelled in cases of severe weather or circumstances beyond the organizer's control (force majeure).<\/p>\r\n      <p>In severe weather, the Race Director, Parks Canada and the event medical team will evaluate conditions on race morning, consulting local law enforcement and other relevant officials. Participant safety guides any decision to start, delay, modify or cancel the race.<\/p>\r\n      <p>Announcements about course changes or cancellation will be made by the race announcer before the scheduled start time.<\/p>\r\n      <div class=\"notice\"><strong>Possible changes:<\/strong> MultiSportsCanada may alter, cancel or remove part of the course, or modify the event's start time, distance or format as conditions require.<\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n  <\/section>\r\n  <section class=\"section\">\r\n    <div class=\"sectionhead\"><h3>Air Quality Policy<\/h3><\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"sectionbody\">\r\n      <p>Our air quality policy is adapted from the Triathlon Alberta \/ Triathlon BC Air Quality Protocol to guide decisions when smoke or reduced visibility affects the field of play.<\/p>\r\n      <div class=\"aqhi\">\r\n        <div><strong>72-hour update<\/strong><span>Participants receive an advance update on the latest available conditions.<\/span><\/div>\r\n        <div class=\"alert\"><strong>AQHI 7 or greater<\/strong><span>The event will be cancelled. Because conditions can change quickly, the final decision is made on race morning.<\/span><\/div>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n      <p>We monitor the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) and available smoke forecasts.
